Sue is Acting Managing Director of RG+. She is also the director responsible for the RG Check accreditation program, which is based on RGC’s internationally recognized Responsible Gambling Standards.
Prior to joining the Responsible Gambling Council in 2013, Sue was Executive Director of Policy, Responsible Gambling and Business Services for the British Columbia gaming regulator, the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch, Ministry of Public Safety from 2000 to 2012.
Before that Sue held many policy and communications jobs in the government and non-profit sectors in Ontario and British Columbia.
Jon Kelly, Ph.D.
Jon is a senior advisor for RG+. He has also been the CEO of the Responsible Gambling Council since 1998. Jon has been instrumental in building RGC into a world-leading organization that works to reduce gambling risks through improved play safeguards and innovative awareness programs. Under his leadership, RGC has shaped responsible gambling best practices that influence gambling practice world-wide.
In 2016, he received the Canadian Gaming Industry Leadership and Outstanding Contribution Award from the Canadian Gaming Association. He also sits on the Advisory Panel of Gambling Safeguards for the Government of Singapore and is a member of the steering group for the Senet Group’s RG Messaging Project in the UK. Jon has been invited to speak on a wide variety of RG topics at conferences and seminars around the world.
Prior to his work with RGC, he held leadership roles for the Ontario government in policy and operational positions in drug and alcohol prevention, disability programs and employment.
Alex Price, Ph.D.
Alex is acting Director, Research and Development and serves as a key investigator on RG+ projects.
Since arriving at RGC in 2015, Alex’s projects have included creating low-risk gambling guidelines, investigating improvements to self-exclusion practices and devising messaging for people who gamble online. His expertise includes scope development, data gathering, qualitative and quantitative analysis and report writing.
Alex has 10 years of experience in public health policy and programming and is an alumnus Fellow in Public Health Policy with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Sherene Fernando, M.Sc.
Sherene is Manager, Research and Policy for RG+. In her 6 years at RGC, Sherene has contributed to numerous best practice and impact studies, collaborated in standards development, and conducted many evaluations of RG programs and policies for both venue and online gambling. In a previous role at RGC, she also completed several casino audits for the RG Check accreditation program, which involved detailed assessments of RG programs in several jurisdictions.
Sherene’s specialties include project management, analyzing and providing recommendations for the provision of RG programs, policy analysis, and report writing.
